Thanksgiving News!

Happy Harvest Day and Pie Day! We had a great morning learning about Thanksgiving! We also enjoyed some yummy pie together in the afternoon!

Reading: We focused on Summarizing. We learned to listen for the characters, what they want to do, the problem, and solution. We practiced summarizing as a class, with partners, and on our own.

Writing: We continued writing poems. This week we learned to focus on the words in our poems. We tried to pick words that really fit the meaning of our poem.

Math: We finished our unit on subtraction. We focused on word problems and how to find the key words so that we know what we need to do. We also took our Chapter 4 Test.

Bible: We finished learning about Christmas! We learned about the Wise Men coming to visit Jesus and how God protected baby Jesus from King Herod.

Important Information:

1. Spelling Words: rejoice, good-bye, point, cool, room, stood, toy, noise, football, enjoy, join, shook, coin, too, they, alike

2. Bible Verse: And a voice came from heaven, "You are my beloved Son; with you I am well pleased." Mark 1:11
